		<description>Depending on the OS and circumstances I tend to use either cpio:

sudo find /home/fred &#124; sudo cpio -pmduV /d02/home

or rsync:

sudo rsync -vaPHx /home/fred /d02/home/

The latter will preserve hardlinks.</description>
